SAI-rotatingWelcome

Sustainable agriculture is increasingly becoming a business priority for the global food and beverage industry. There is an emerging need for all participants ‘across the food supply chain’ to come together in a practical way to share thinking around forefront challenges impacting global food production and to fully understand the solutions and gaps.

This global conference is an Australian-first, and will provide a unique opportunity for farmers, buyers, food manufacturers, policy makers, retailers, academics, investors and researchers from around the world to canvass agricultural sustainability issues along the dimensions of ‘People, Profit, Planet’.  It will aim to encourage ideas amongst delegates and seek to improve agricultural sustainability practices.  ABC Landline Reporter, Tim Lee will join us to facilitate discussion and debate.

Pdf-link from home pageWith over 30 speakers, you can expect to hear from Australian and World leaders operating at the cutting edge of sustainable food production who will provide:

  • valuable insights into emerging sustainability challenges facing the agricultural sector and food and beverage industries
  • canvass the role of international business in meeting food demand and achieving food security
  • discuss innovation and technology transfer opportunities and best practice examples
  • examine why investing in agricultural sustainability makes ‘good business sense’

This conference is practical in its approach and delegates will hear firsthand from farmers across various sectors in a growers panel, commercial projects implemented by corporate food organisations and from research and development corporations about their innovative sustainability initiatives.

It is organised by the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative Platform, which is globally founded with leading agriculture, food and beverage organisations as it’s members.

If you are a stakeholder across the agriculture, food and beverage supply chain with an interest in the future of food production, this is a cutting-edge conference to be part of.  I invite you to review the program and hope to see you in Canberra on the 17 and 18 March 2011.

Regards

David Koch
